The GA-1000 was created for explorers, hikers and navigators. Whether by air, land or sea, the GA-1000-1A has the features to keep you from getting lost. 

One of these features is a digital compass.  When you switch to this mode, the hands act as a compass indicator, and the square display at the top left of your screen will have your bearing in a digital format (IE NW or SE etc), so if you have trouble seeing the arrows you can figure out where you’re going thanks to the digital display. 

To help even more, the compass comes with a bearing memory function, which will remember the way you were headed when you turned on the compass last time (IE if you’re heading NW, but were heading SE before, you’ll see that on the screen). 

If you’re more of a hiker or mountain climber, it’s important to know what you should wear. That’s where the thermometer comes in. It can tell you if the weather outside is anywhere between -10oc to 60oc.
