In 2010, the world's wealthiest art institution, the J. Paul Getty Museum, found itself confronted by a century-old genocide. The Armenian Church was suing for the return of eight pages from the Zeytun Gospels, a manuscript illuminated by the greatest medieval Armenian artist, Toros Roslin. Protected for centuries in a remote church, the holy manuscript had followed the waves of displaced people exterminated during the Armenian genocide. Passed from hand to hand, caught in the confusion and brutality of the First World War, it was cleaved in two. Decades later, the manuscript found its way to the Republic of Armenia, while its missing eight pages came to the Getty.

The Missing Pages is the biography of a manuscript that is at once art, sacred object, and cultural heritage. Its tale mirrors the story of its scattered community as Armenians have struggled to redefine themselves after genocide and in the absence of a homeland. Heghnar Zeitlian Watenpaugh follows in the manuscript's footsteps through seven centuries, from medieval Armenia to the killing fields of 1915 Anatolia, the refugee camps of Aleppo, Ellis Island, and Soviet Armenia, and ultimately to a Los Angeles courtroom.

Reconstructing the path of the pages, Watenpaugh uncovers the rich tapestry of an extraordinary artwork and the people touched by it. Once the parcel has been confirmed as lost by the carrier, we will arrange a replacement or refund, as appropriate.

We are unable to issue a refund or replacement while the parcel is still in transit or while the carrier's investigation is ongoing.

If the tracking information shows that the parcel has been successfully delivered, the order will be considered delivered. Responsibility for the parcel passes to the recipient upon confirmed delivery.

We are not responsible for any loss, theft, misplacement, or non-receipt of the parcel following confirmed delivery.

If the recipient is unable to locate the parcel after it has been confirmed as delivered, the recipient is responsible for contacting the shipping carrier directly to lodge an investigation. We are not responsible or liable for the outcome of any such investigation.

Warranty & Returns

All products sold by EXBOX Australia Pty Ltd (“EXBOX”) come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

Customers are entitled to a replacement (subject to stock availability) or refund for a major failure and may also be entitled to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. Unless otherwise agreed or required under Australian Consumer Law, the customer is responsible for the cost of returning the product to EXBOX, including any shipping and insurance costs. EXBOX will cover the shipping cost of sending the repaired or replacement product back to the customer.

Any special shipping arrangements or discounts agreed to by EXBOX will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Nothing in this Warranty Policy is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify any rights or remedies available to consumers under the Australian Consumer Law.

Once your return has been received, inspected, and approved, your refund will be processed within 1–3 business days.
